ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

NWCC crew using an excavator to haul a large tree trunk into a dump truck for removal from a job siteNWCC’s environmental engineering capabilities include site assessments, characterization, permitting, and monitoring for a multitude of industries and applications.  Characterization experience includes site soils, hydrology (surface water and groundwater), mining and oil/gas industry waste, building conditions (asbestos, radon, mold, and lead), contaminant releases, and environmental impacts.  Our professionals design on-site wastewater disposal systems and waste impoundments for residential and commercial properties under local and state regulations and prepare environmental permits including but not limited to solid waste landfills, gravel pits, oil/gas wells, stormwater, spill response (SPCC Plans), and air quality.  We have completed over 200 Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments across the western United States ranging from 1-acre commercial properties to large rural ranches, and mining/oil/gas facilities and industrial sites.  NWCC staff has investigated the surface and subsurface for extent of environmental impact for a variety of substances including nitrates, petroleum, oil and grease, polychlorinated by phenols (PCBs), solvents, pesticides, and herbicides.  We have designed and successfully completed projects under Risk-Based Corrective Action guidelines (RBCA) and specialize in remediation of impacted groundwater and soils utilizing natural processes.  Our environmental engineers are Certified Environmental Inspectors and have completed the OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Site Health and Safety training. We offer asbestos building inspections for those to undergo renovation or demolition as well as mold and lead based paint inspections.
